Running is one of the best activities most people can do to improve their health. A regular running program promotes a healthy lifestyle including weight management, cardiovascular health, diabetes control, as well as giving the aging process a good fight. And, there is no better way to “engage” than run in a group environment.
In addition to the physical benefits, there are many psychological benefits, such as a sense of well being, accomplishment, increased confidence, focus and better self-esteem. Plus, there is an additional benefit of participating in a community and culture all your own. Competition, the friends, and the atmosphere of friendliness (even during competition) are all things that a running group can provide.
